Angry Someone please help me x_x

Okay, I have a level 20 prophecies character.
I haven't completed the storyline yet.
I (stupidly) did the Cantha quest and now I am stuck in Cantha. I've been trying to talk to the boat guy (his name is Armian) but he keeps saying that I need to wait until the captain of the boat comes back. Wtf? I want to go back to Tyria! ;_;
Has someone had the same experience and can help me? >_<

...and you've never even once wondered what that ship on the map is for?

Press "M" to bring up the world map and the find the little boat with white sails that says "Travel" below it. Click on the boat and then pick Lion's Arch from the list and then Travel.

Come on dude...don't be such a flamer. Everybody has their moments...I just hope that when you need help someone actually gives it to you...even if it is something that is intuitive to most people like in this case.

Props to Fluf for actually being helpful.

You took the words out of my "typing"... Good comment.

If the OP is asking a question, he probably has the need for that information. We all been noobs for a time.

I did nothing more than ask a simple question! If you have a problem with understanding that simple concept then you really should think before calling people names.

I think what's being questioned is:

Why didn't you just explain what the ship was for? Your first reply did sound a little snobbish, even if that wasn't the intent.

With typed words it is very easy to misread intent.

In the time that it took to type the sarcastic comment, he could have just given the answer. Oh well, to each his own. To the OP, glad you got a decent answer from someone.

If you don't want to be called a flamer...then don't be one. You weren't just asking a "simple question" you were being insulting and not adding anything to this thread. It is "simple" minded and petty people like you who attempt to belittle others while safely hiding behind the anonymity of your keyboard that give these forums (and the internet in general) a bad name. As I stated before...I hope that when you have questions, even if they are clear to others, you get an actual helpful answer instead of getting flamed. That way maybe you will come to appreciate how others should be treated. In the future, don't respond to a question unless you have a constructive or helpful answer...we don't need your kind of contribution on here.

To everyone else who recognizes this fundamental concept and makes it a point to help others instead of flaming...well done.

Good fortune to all.

Don't feel like an idiot...it is an honest mistake. That is what these forums are for.

Good fortune.

Tripleposts ftw.

And I'm tired of the ,,everyone once was a noob...'' argument. Why? Because when WE started, we didn't have things like wikis, better players (or it was hard to find one, in prophecies there were no titles or other signs than someone is superior) or most of us didn't know about forums for GW.

Instead of asking questions (not all questions, of course, but only those easiest and most obvious), try looking at wiki or use search.

And no, I'm not saying someone is stupid, or dumb, or anything at all because he asked a question. He just wastes his and our time - his by waiting for reply, and ours because we had to read thread and/or write a post.

Maybe all of us aren't as forum-savy as you are. So, if someone asks a question that is answered in the Wiki...then either ignore them or paste the Wiki link for them and advise them to check there first.

If you think that it is a waste of your time to read a thread or write a post, then go do something that you find more productive. It is not up to you to judge what questions are worthy or not, and it is ridiculous that you think your opinion is any more valid than others on this issue.

By the way...every one WAS a Newby once. We were all new to the RPG genre at one time (about 20 years ago for me), or new to a particular game (very recently with GW for me). The fact that we didn't have Wikis, Forums, etc. doesn't mean that people are spoiled or lazy somehow. This is a resource for asking and answering questions, so don't complain when that is what people use it for. It is a great resource...just like the Wiki and others.

Now, if a person continuously asked questions that can be answered via the Wiki...that is quite different. The way that I found out that the Wiki and search engine on this site should be used before asking a question is that people were helpful enough to point me in that direction. If I stubbornly refused to use those resources, then I would rightly be flamed...but if you inform most people how it works then they will learn fast.

By the way...I started playing RPGs in the 80's when the www wasn't even in existence yet, so don't give me that back in my day nonsense. These resources we have now (Wiki, Forum, etc.) are wonderful, and are a way for rookies and veterans to share information. So, how about helping people understand how these resources work...instead of being condescending and taking that "back in my day" attitude.

Good fortune all

so basicaly you think that these forums are a waste of your time and you should have something better to do.....

Guru is here for people of all skill levels to get or give help. if you find it to be a waste of time leave.

The search option on wiki is crap. So unless you know exactly what you are looking for this forum would be a better option.

EDIT: lol Usurp. I gave the cliffsnotes version of your post and didnt realize it.

Maybe he didn't know how to bring up the world map? Nice troll anyway.

And as fluff said hit the "m" key to bring up the world map click the boat that says travel and go to lion's arch for proph, kaineng for factions (if you want to go back), and kamadan if you want to go to nightfall.

So you post on a Q&A forum to state that if a question doesn't meet your whimsical criteria of validity then it shouldn't be posted here? Bravo.

@OP If you get EotN and you complete the quests to get there, a blue vortex will appear on your map next to the capital city of the continent you are on--which will serve the same purpose as the boat, but for traveling to EotN.
